Bridges are a common feature of the built environment and one of the key elements of civil engineering. The basic principles of bridge design are dependent on the load-bearing structure; whether flat, convex or concave. These are better known as beam, arch or suspension bridges.
7 Related Project(s)
The term built environment refers to the human-made surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, ranging in scale from buildings and parks or green space to neighbourhoods and cities that can often include their supporting infrastructure, such as water supply or energy networks.
2 Related Project(s)
Geotechnical engineering is the study of the behaviour of soils under the influence of loading forces and soil-water interactions. This knowledge is applied to the design of foundations, retaining walls, earth dams, clay liners, and geosynthetics for waste containment.
2 Related Project(s)
Structure in building construction refers to the process of putting together different elements of construction, to serve a useful purpose. This method has to effectively support and transmit possible loads on the building to the ground.
18 Related Project(s)
Mechanical and electrical engineering encompasses the manufacture and repairing of a diverse range of electrical and electronic products, such as engines, electrical products, consumer electronics, computers, mobile phones and others.
